EJB (EkaJaladBharatee) is a foundational language processing engine designed for real-time transliteration and script conversion, seamlessly integrating with keyboards like EKAKBD and serving as the backend for external applications such as the Ekalipi World Keyboard. Supporting multiple languages, EJB offers features like TTS playback and data export, and can be used both as a standalone app or as a backend engine.
This document provides a straightforward guide to installing, operating, and maintaining EJB for everyday users seeking reliable multilingual input support.

To begin, download the EJB app from the Google Play Store by searching for “ejb”. The full name of the app "EJB (EkaJaladBharatee Rupantar".

 Tap the app name, then tap the install button.

 Upon installation, the button will change to Open. Tap the Open button to open the EJB app.

This will open the app’s main Converter screen.

You will see a number of buttons and typing boxes, which we will talk about later.  Your phone’s default keyboard will also be displayed. It will usually be a qwerty keyboard that comes preinstalled on your phone.

Tap somewhere in the top input box. Then type the following letters: “kamal”.

This test confirms that the app is installed and is working properly.

To exploit all the features and capabilities of the EJB app, you will need to install the free Ekalipi World Keyboard app. We will show how to do that in the accompanying EKAKBD User Manual. We suggest that you install the keyboard app now and then return to this EJB User Manual.

EJB can convert text bidirectionally a)  from  phonetic Ekalipi text(a superset of the Latin script) to native scripts, and or native scripts back to Ekalipi for editing. As you type, real-time suggestions appear, allowing selection via tap. This supports sentence-level mixing, such as English words interspersed with regional scripts, ideal for emails, notes, or messaging apps like WhatsApp.

Key capabilities include customizable output scripts, accent selection for TTS playback (e.g., US English regardless of script), and modular updates that add languages without reinstalling. Privacy settings let users control data storage, clear learned dictionaries, and disable analytics. Export personal dictionaries for backups or sharing across devices.

For step-by-step operation:

• Open any input-enabled app (e.g., Notes or browser).
• Switch to EJB keyboard if not default.
• Enter phonetic text; review suggestions in the candidate row.
• Tap to insert, or use punctuation (., ?, !) to convert entire phrases.
• Access TTS via toolbar for audio review.

The app handles complex logic like matras and conjuncts accurately, reducing manual corrections. Offline mode supports core transliteration, with cloud enhancements for predictions.

In EJB settings (gear icon), adjust display themes (light/dark), text size, vibration feedback, and suggest aggressiveness. Input preferences cover autocorrect toggles and personal dictionary management—add words via long-press or bulk import. Accessibility features include high-contrast mode and large keys.

Advanced users can tweak dwell time for swipe inputs or enable experimental language packs. Updates occur seamlessly via Play Store, preserving settings.
